The Space Jam: A New Legacy actress just sat down with Entertainment Weekly to talk about her time in the upcoming film. Of course, she wasted no time addressing perhaps the most controversial part of it all: Her character, Lola Bunny's revamped appearance - calling for clothing far more similar to her male counterparts' than the original 1996 film which saw her in crop-tops and short shorts.

"I understand, because she's a lovable character," the actress explained of the back-lash the noticeable change has been met with. Nonetheless, she wouldn't have wanted it any other way: "She's the only girl on the team, kind of holding it down for the ladies — and she's also an incredible player," Z gushed of her empowering role.

But above all else, Lola Bunny's latest adventure called for a whole lot more than just a new wardrobe: "I think in this reimagining of who she is, it just leans into that a little bit more, the fact that she's got these skills and she's an MVP," as the actress perfectly put it. We love to see it. Make sure to check out the game-changing film when it hits HBO Max Friday, July 16.

And of course, stay tuned.
