Live, long Euphoria! Barbie Ferreira is finally speaking her truth on why she's leaving the beloved HBO show seven months after making the announcement. Die-hard Euphoria fans are devastated to see her go but are glad to hear she is good with the final decision. Let's take a closer look.

In a recent episode of Dax Shepard's Armchair Expert podcast, Barbie Ferreira addressed the real reason why her character, Kat, will not return for a third season. At first, rumors indicated she had a falling out with showrunner Sam Levinson, which led her to get kicked off the show. However, according to Barbie, that's not the truth. So what really happened? According to Ferreira, she was "sucked into this drama" after people accused her of walking off the set one day during season two after getting into an argument with Levinson. And well, that didn't happen. "I actually did not walk off," she said. "I did sprain my ankle once and had to go get an X-ray," she added. So maybe that's what people were talking about?

But in all actuality, Barbie just didn't think there was "a place" for Kat to grow in the show. "I think there were places she could have gone," she told Shepard. "I just don't think it would have fit into the show. I don't know if it was going to do her justice, and I think both parties knew that. I really wanted to be able to not be the fat best friend. I don't want to play that, and I think they didn't want that either. I would've played her for as long as I was asked to, depending on what the material was."

Barbie's character, Kat, was introduced into the series in season one, but by the second season, her character's storyline had completely shifted, and in doing so, she got way less screen time. "I feel like with Season 2 and certain parts of it, I felt was a kind of a struggle for both parties," she said. "Sam, me…it was a struggle to find the continuation of her. So that was actually really hurtful watching it and seeing the fans get upset." In fact, Barbie felt like she might have even "overstayed" her welcome. Regardless, we're going to miss Kat at Euphoria High, but we're excited to see her do her thing in the upcoming psychological thriller House of Spoils. Be sure to stay tuned for more!
