Gossip alert! Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis's former nanny is suing them for wrongful termination, claiming she suffered "severe emotional distress" while working for the Hollywood couple. The woman, who started working for Wilde and Sudeikis in 2018, alleges that she was not given proper break times or days off and was often required to work more than 12 hours per day. She also claims she was not paid overtime and that her job duties included cleaning up after the family's dogs. Yikes! Here's a closer look.
Ericka Genaro has gone through a lot these past few years, following the ups and downs of Olivia Wilde and Jason Sudeikis' relationship. Following the split in 2020, it seems she was put in an uncomfortable position of "picking sides," which is never an ideal scenario! Genaro was surprised when Wilde suddenly left home in November 2020. She found that Sudeikis suddenly needed more emotional support from her, and the pressure of this role left her feeling anxious and overwhelmed. According to Genaro, she had been forced to take on the "primary caretaker" role in Wilde's absence, and this new position had become "debilitating." It had all been too much for her.
Genaro's journey to better mental health took a turn when her osteopath recommended a three-day radio silence period from communication with the actors she worked with. According to the allegations, when Sudeikis heard about Genaro's three-day vacation, he demanded they speak on the spot and ended their professional relationship there. Genaro filed a discrimination complaint against her former employer, and The Civil Rights Department for the State of California is now hearing her case. The ex-nanny is seeking proper compensation for her losses, including lost earnings and deferred payments, as well as reimbursement of other benefits taken away from her due to the wrongful termination. As she put it, no amount of money could replace the pain and anguish she has experienced - but if justice prevails, Genaro will receive some form of financial compensation that may help her move forward with her life.
