Maude Apatow aka Lexi Howard from the hit drama show Euphoria has opened up about how she feels about her on-screen relationship with Angus Cloud, aka Fez. The two characters have been flirting with one another all throughout the second season of the HBO show, and fans are loving it! But they aren't the only ones. It seems like even off-screen, these two actors are fond of working with one another. Here's the tea Apatow spilled.
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the 24-year-old actress admitted that the storyline between her character and Fez "felt right." And TBH, we couldn't agree more. "Once we started talking about it, it totally made sense," she revealed after explaining that she and the show's creator, Sam Levinson, spent hours discussing the narrative. "And Angus and I, in real life, have a funny friendship. It all just happened. It all felt right as soon as we started talking about it." Awww.
It seems like nearly everyone who watched Euphoria has been rooting for Fexi (Lexi + Fez) to work things out. While the two characters have not officially started dating, it's pretty obvious they are into each other. Maude said she loved the reactions to the plot, "It's so nice to see people like it that much. I can't even describe how crazy it is to go on Instagram and people have made the most like incredible drawings of us, and these dramatic edits of our love. It's so funny," the actress added, "It's a crazy positive reaction. I knew people were gonna like it, because it's pretty sweet, but I wasn't expecting this many people to like it. It's crazy."
Apatow admitted that even she is excited to see how things unfold with their relationship. "I think it is just very refreshing when the relationship feels so like innocent and sweet, like in the last episode they don't even kiss. They just hold hands, and it's building really slowly," she said. Especially since they are one of the only things about the show that doesn't seem so chaotic, "I think in contrast to a lot of the things that happen on the show that are so extreme, it definitely stands out." Apatow gushed about her co-star, "I love working with Angus... we just have so much fun working together. So for selfish reasons, I hope we get to do more scenes together because it's fun. He's just a great partner." We guess we'll have to wait till 2024 for HBO to release season 3 so we can finally see how what happens during season 3. Stay tuned.
