While Leighton Meester has given us many incredible performances as many different characters, she will forever be best known and loved for her role as Blair Waldorf. For six seasons, the actress schemed her way into our hearts on the OG Gossip Girl, which aired from 2007 to 2012. It was sad to say goodbye to the iconic character. But as it turns out, there's a chance we'll be seeing Blair on our screens once again! Here's what she revealed.
Meester was previously asked back in 2019 by E! News if she were to return to the hit teen show, to which she responded, "No one's ever asked me, no one's ever talked to me about it except for in interviews, and I always say the same: I never say never, so I don't know. No one's sent me that information, it's coming from you." At the time, no one knew there would be a reboot made. But now that the new Gossip Girl has been made, she has spoken about the possibility of making an appearance once again!
The actress recently opened to Fox 5 New York about what she thought of the new series. "I will say, you know… I've watched the new one. I do think it's really awesome." She continued explaining that she was "happy for [the new cast]." But she did admit that the remake is a tad different from the original Upper West Side cast. "I feel like they're doing a whole new thing," she confessed. "And I don't think that we don't fit in but - or I can only speak for myself - I don't feel like I fit in."

But that didn't stop Meester from saying she is not opposed to making a comeback as the iconic sassy girl. "Yeah, I don't know - I mean, you know, I'm doing a junket today. This has been asked a couple times," she said when asked if Blair would return. "I'm going, 'I don't know maybe.'" We can't lie, we would be extremely excited to see what Blair in the future would look like. In the meantime, we'll be binging the new reboot on HBO Max. Stay tuned for more updates.
