Lady Gaga has been hitting one red carpet after another as the cast of House of Gucci attends worldwide premieres. And during one of her most recent appearances, the Grammy-winner shared some sweet words about the Princess of Pop's newly-found freedom. "You know, I've been watching this for a long time, and the way that [Britney Spears] was treated in this business was really wrong, and the way that women are treated in the music industry is something that I wish would change," Gaga said.

And she wasn't done there - the 35-year-old showered Britney in compliments. "I think she will forever be an inspiration to women and to people all over the world. I watched her as a young girl, and I still watch her now," Gaga gushed. "She is widely talented; she is incredibly inspirational, and I'm just so happy that we get to celebrate today that she gets to embark on a new phase of her life." The Bad Romance singer added that it was mainly thanks to Britney herself that the conservatorship ended.

"She authored her freedom," Gaga said. "She worked hard for this moment, and I hope she feels that." And when Spears got word of the starlet's kind words, she took to the Gram to thank her. "Thank you @ladygaga for genuinely taking your time to say something so kind. You made me cry !!! I love you !!!" Britney wrote alongside a video of the red carpet interview.

And just when we thought things couldn't possibly get better, the exchange continued as Gaga wished Britney all the best for this next chapter in her life. "Love you @britneyspears," she wrote. "Live your best life [heart emojis] I prayed for the legal system to treat you like a person. You've now changed the course for women in this industry forever. You stood up for yourself and were so brave. Thank you."
