Jennifer Aniston Faces Heat for “Out of Touch” Comments
| LAST UPDATE 06/14/2022
Everyone's entitled to an opinion, right? Well, that may be the case, but that's not stopping social media from sharing their two cents about Jennifer Aniston's recent thoughts on Hollywood these days. And let's just say, people aren't too happy with her...
This all kicked off when viewers caught a look at Jen's recent in-depth interview as part of Variety's Actors on Actors segment on their YouTube channel. Aniston chatted with Sebastian Stan about all things entertainment and career, but things eventually took a turn when Jennifer started sharing her thoughts about how the industry has changed over the years. When talking about Sebastian's part in Pam & Tommy Lee, Jen shared that the events of the mini-series signified a major shift in Hollywood in her eyes - AKA "people becoming famous for basically doing nothing." And the actress added Paris Hilton and Monica Lewinsky as further examples. "I feel so lucky that we got a little taste of the industry before it became what it is today," the former Friends star admitted. "More streaming services - you're famous from TikTok, you're famous from YouTube, you're famous from Instagram... it's almost, like, it's diluting the actor's job."
Now, it didn't take long for folks on social media to start reacting to Jennifer's bold opinions. And people were very quick to point out that Aniston herself has become the rom-com queen thanks to an "in" in Hollywood: Her parents. "What is she talking about, she literally got in cuz she's a nepo baby lmao," @rebelmooned tweeted, with another adding, "People are so angry that the industry is more diverse, more inclusive of people from all backgrounds who had nothing but a phone to prop up to showcase their dream when their communities were probably underfunded and overlooked. let's keep making 'em mad."
Yikes. Something tells us that this story is just getting started. Check back soon for further updates. And for more, check out the explosive interview in question linked above!
