An influencer scandal has just resurfaced: it has only recently come to #Nixie fans that the couple took a secret break in 2021! While we have to credit them for keeping this information on the D.L, now that it has come to light, we can't help but wonder why. Here's the full scoop.

The D'Amelio Show has been nothing but an emotional rollercoaster. Audiences have been welcomed into the D'Amelio world, revealing the ins and outs of family and personal struggles like never before. While millennials are used to keeping up with the Kardashians, The D'Amelio Show explicitly connects Gen-Z audiences with the destructive power of social media, exposing the consequences and celebrations that come from being famous. Barely anything can be a secret nowadays. Though, regarding their relationship timeline, we can confirm the duo started their journey in 2020 after D'Amelio split from fellow TikTok star Griffin Johnson. Dixie and Noah did not go public until October 2020, although they shared a dance on the app in July and a kiss in Dixie's Be Happy music video. But, there was a slight mishap that we all missed.

In the second episode of the show, Dixie welcomes her parents into her apartment, which quickly turns into something "deeper." Dixie tries to make small talk before breaking big news to her parents, Heidi and Mark. "Noah - I don't know what's going on with that... we're not really talking right now... but we're broken up," she reveals. According to People, Dixie noted how she "wished" Noah and her relationship was "never put online," and she felt "uncomfortable." When they initially began dating, we were amid Covid-19, the epitome of quarantine, and things were easily private while everyone was locked up... including the paparazzi. After a recent interview with J-14, Dixie confirmed, "that's like one of those things that, we're 21-year-olds who started a relationship during quarantine, got to see each other every day and then started working where we can't see each other at all, are busy and tired and trying to build a career... For now, keeping our relationship offline and just letting us (figure out) how can we navigate this life and find our happiness again with work and friends, and family is really important to us. So, I think that's what we're both focusing on."

Now, the couple is doing great by keeping things offline. According to People, Dixie explained at the 2022 VMA's that their romance detour to privacy was "better for their mental health." While the couple can finally move on without unnecessary online trolls, Dixie's also got lots to be happy about when it comes to her career. But she's just getting started. Stay tuned!
