Demi Lovato Debuts New Haircut As They Prepare for 2022
| LAST UPDATE 12/29/2021
Demi Lovato has started their New Year's resolution a bit prematurely this year. Recently, the actress debuted a new hairstyle and is already prepared for a "fresh start." Here's what to know.
Back in September 2022, Lovato and their former fiance, Max Ehrich, terminated their engagement. Ever since, Lovato has aimed to be their "most authentic self" in 2021. They previously admitted, "In hindsight, the dissolvement of that relationship was actually probably the best thing that's happened to me, because of what that led inside of myself."
Following the break-up, the former Disney star said they wanted to leave it all in the past, "I also said goodbye to everything that was holding me back from being my most authentic self," the pop-star explained during the 19th Represents 2021 Virtual Summit. They added, "[the relationship] held me back from identifying as the person I do today." They definitely followed through with being themselves because in May, the singer came out as non-binary and started using the pronouns they/them. "Today is a day I'm so happy to share more of my life with you all — I am proud to let you know that I identify as non-binary," Lovato shared to Twitter.
And ever since, the 29-year old has continued to shine through as their true self. Most recently, on Christmas Day, Lovato shared to their 122 million Instagram followers that they had gotten a fresh buzzcut. That right! All of the hair was chopped off. We have to admit Lovato seems to rock the new 'do. The caption included the hashtag #freshstart, which we can only assume signifies that new changes will occur to the Confident singer in the upcoming year.
Lovato has faced many difficulties throughout their career, so it's nice to see them become a better version of themselves each day. "I feel more joy in my life than I’ve ever felt because [I’m not] quieting or diminishing any part of myself," they proudly revealed. We cant wait to see what they have in store for us in 2022. Until then, stay tuned.
