Chrissy Teigen Feels “Very Clear-Headed” Following Her Online Hiatus
| LAST UPDATE 11/01/2021
Chrissy Teigen's time on our screens has taken us on one whirlwind of a ride. From her scandalous tweets resurfacing to the Twitter hiatus that followed - to every road bump in between - here's what the model had to say about her mental health journey.
The Cravings author recently sat down with Today to give viewers a much needed update on her whereabouts. And perhaps with good reason. The on-air interview marked the first television appearance for Teigen since her cyberbullying scandal this past summer. Safe to say, a whole lot has changed since then...

“I feel so good, I feel very clear-headed,” Teigen proudly revealed. “I feel like I’ve done the work, and I just hope these people can forgive and be able to welcome the fact that hopefully they’ve seen me be better.” As for what that “work” called for? Aside from reflecting on prior mistakes made behind the keyboard, Chrissy made another major life change.
"I’m actually a hundred days sober today and I’m so excited," she confessed. From struggling with online criticism to being "canceled" as a result, Teigen soon realized that alcohol was one of the anchors weighing her down after all this time. Sure enough, ever since making the lifestyle adjustment, she's never been happier.
"I think you learn so much in the moments where you do lose so much, you lose it all, your world is kind of turned upside down," she explained. "For me, it was a big moment of, ‘Wow, I need to find out how I can be better, how I can grow from this, learn from this." And while she'll never head down that dark path again, she wouldn't have wanted things any other way: "There’s that old cliché like I’m glad it happened, but truly it made me a stronger person, a better person. Having this period of time to digest it all and to look back." We couldn't be prouder of Chrissy's journey to self-discovery - and we can't wait to see what comes next.
Stay tuned.
