Hello from the other side: after a long hiatus, Adele is finally ready to return to the mic. But her upcoming album is going to be like nothing we've ever seen (or heard) before. Here's what the Grammy hit-maker had to say about her latest release.
On Wednesday, October 14, the Hollywood goddess took to Instagram to announce the big news: a new album, 30, is set to drop November 19. But while it may have been a long time in the making, that doesn't mean it was easy. "I was certainly nowhere near where I'd hoped to be when I first started it nearly three years ago," Adele confessed of the upcoming release. "Quite the opposite, actually."

Sure enough, after taking a step back from the spotlight, the artist's journey to self-discovery has finally reached its destination. "I've learned a lot of blistering home truths about myself along the way... shed many layers... Discovered genuinely useful and wholesome mentalities to lead with, and I feel like I've finally found my feeling again," she proudly revealed. "I've never felt more peaceful in my life. And so, I'm ready to finally put this album out."
As for what exactly to expect? For starters, Adele's latest release will show a side to her we've never seen before. "I've painstakingly rebuilt my house and my heart... and this album narrates it," the singer said. As she elaborated to a fan during a recent Instagram Live, 30 will cover everything from divorce to motherhood. And while it wasn't easy pouring her heart on paper, Adele wouldn't have wanted it any other way.
In fact, there's one fan, in particular, she hopes to reach through her most vulnerable piece yet: Her son. "I just felt like I wanted to explain to him, through this record, when he's in his twenties or thirties, who I am and why I voluntarily chose to dismantle his entire life in the pursuit of my own happiness," Adele confessed to Vogue of her recent divorce from ex Simon Konecki.
Safe to say, Adele's road to Hollywood hasn't been easy, but she's learned a lot in the process. And we can't wait to find out for ourselves what precisely that entailed when 30 debuts this Fall.
Until then, stay tuned.
