Daily coffees... Can't live with 'em, can't live without 'em, right? While the dangers of caffeine dependency are real, for most of us, a daily cup of joe isn't the end of the world. And thank goodness, because from lattes to frappes, there are just too many delicious options to completely close the door on coffee. And thanks to this new health hack, there's a way to get some much-needed nutrients into our beloved drink.
We can thank Nisha Vora for this incredible recipe, a self-proclaimed vegan influencer and cookbook author, who's dedicated her life to inspiring her nearly 700,000 followers about how to enjoy "flavor-packed recipes" and reap the health benefits. So, what's this health goddess drink, exactly? Well, it's called an Almond Butter Date Latte. According to Nisha, it's "sweet, spicy, and zingy." And while it's not on the Starbucks menu just yet, it's "truly the best latte you can make at home." It goes like this: start by bringing 1.5 cups of oat milk, two pitted dates, two tablespoons of almond butter, a dash of cinnamon and cayenne, one teaspoon of vanilla, and an orange peel together on a stove and heating it up to a simmer. After about ten minutes of simmering and whisking, transfer the hot drink to a blender and whip until nice and frothy. After, pour the mixture over about half a cup of hot coffee.
At the end, you'll finish with the protein-packed latte of your dreams. From the dates to the oat milk and orange peel, these easy additions not only add flavor to the drink but also bring some vital daily nutrients all in one glass! And based on the comments on Nisha's recipe reel, it's a serious crowd favorite. "Made it for the first time today... it's blissfully delicious," one user commented. And what's best? The coffee can be taken out completely or swapped with a non-caffeinated tea alternative!
