Meet TikTok’s Woman of the People, Tefi
| LAST UPDATE 09/28/2022
She's a pop culture expert. She's TikTok’s big sister. She's Estefania Vanegas Pessoa, more commonly known as Tefi or, by her account handle, @hellotefi. The 32-year-old has taken social media by storm! From her detailed analysis and coverage of celebrity scandals to her profound revelations and talks about her struggles with confidence and image, there is a good reason that she has a mega-following of over 1.5 million people...
The content creator has reached audiences far and wide with her relatable, hilarious, and deeply personal videos. Before she became a sensation on TikTok, Tefi worked odd jobs around New York City. Then, she found her footing on YouTube, starring in her self-titled show The Tefi Show. She would stream live and talk about anything from what was happening with Drake and Rihanna to reviewing looks at awards show. When COVID hit, everything changed, and she made the pivot to the platform everyone seemed to be using, TikTok.
Since her explosion on TikTok, the native Miami personality has been nominated as a TikTok Latinx Trailblazer in 2021, which was part of their creator spotlight series for Hispanic Heritage Month. She has worked as a TikTok correspondent for Warner Brothers and is InStyle's exclusive social media host. She is also the host of MTV's digital series Merch Masters, where designers compete against each other to create custom merchandise for the biggest musicians. But it does not stop there! Tefi has collaborated with some of the biggest names in entertainment, like Netflix, Hulu, ABC, and Paramount. She has also worked with brands like Savage X Fenty, YSL Beauty, W Hotels, and Byredo – to name a few. Most recently, she signed with the United Talent Agency, the same agency that TikTok superstar Charli D'Amelio is signed to!
This is bound to be just the beginning for the content creator. After all, she's like the big sister everyone always wanted! She knows everything about the latest celebs and always keeps it real. When she spoke with Refinery 29, she gave some advice to her younger self, “Treat yourself like you’re worthy of love, and people will start giving it. If you start telling people who you are, they’ll believe you.” She is truly a social media icon. Stay tuned for more of Tefi!
