It looks like Charli D'Amelio is taking her talents to the big screen. The TikTok icon has been announced to be the star of an upcoming thrilling film named Home School. And she's not the only well-known name who will be on set - the movie will be directed by none other than directed by F. Javier Gutiérrez, aka the mastermind who directed The Ring! So we just know this production will have us on the edge of our seats! Here's everything we know so far about Charli's role.
After her mom passes away, a young teenage girl named Mira goes to live with her aunt in a new town. But what she soon finds out is that there is a supernatural connection between her and her late mother. The haunting movie has been said to be possibly the first of an eight-movie franchise. "We've been developing this project for a few years to bring something new and exciting to the screen," teased Ryan Kavanaugh from Proxima Media. "Having Javier direct and Charli star is the perfect package. We are going for 'The Sixth Sense' meets 'Get Out.'"
D'Amelio admitted that she knew immediately she would be a perfect fit to play Mira. "As soon as I read Home School, I knew it was for me," the 18-year-old gushed during a statement, according to Deadline. "I connected with the character, Mira, the story, the script, and the team. I knew if I was going to do a movie, it needed to be something fun, edgy, and fresh. While the role will certainly be challenging and push me to learn to act and become Mira, it's a fun ride and meant to be fun to make and fun to watch. I also wanted to make sure I surrounded myself with a great team."

"With its compelling visuals and a strong psychological element, I think Home School has the potential to be a modern classic," gushed Gutiérrez in a statement. "I can't wait to work alongside Charli and the Proxima team." And we can't wait to see Charli show off her acting skills! Stay tuned for updates.
