She may be the ultimate TikTok influencer, but it seems Addison Rae will not stop until she has conquered all industries of fame. From beauty to movies, there is seemingly nothing Addison cannot do! The star made her movie debut in Netflix's gender-swapped remake He's All That in August 2021. Although it received a shockingly low 30% Rotten Tomatoes score, fans still rushed to watch their favorite TikTok star in action. Love her or hate her, there is no denying that Addison Rae is a woman of the people, and the movie studios are all looking to capitalize off this fact. Really, it was only a matter of time until we saw Addison take on her next acting role. On Tuesday, Deadline broke the news that Addison would be starring in the new movie Fashionista for Paramount Players. Here's what to know.
Addison took to her Instagram to confirm the news with her 40.3 million followers. With a screenshot of the article, she captioned the post "2/22/22," alongside a grateful emoji. Other than the name of the movie, details of the project are limited. Deadline has reported that Laura Terruso produced the script after receiving a draft from Amy Andelson & Emily Meyer. Additionally, the producers of He's All That, Jennifer Gibgot and Andrew Panay, are believed to be again working with the influencer on this movie. Deadline expects a director to be announced within the coming weeks.
In an interview with Variety last month, Addison discussed the types of movie roles she's looking to work on. "I want to show people I'm not just limited to one thing. I want to play the bad guy but also the good guy. I eventually want something really deep and emotional and real as possible." As no synopsis for Fashionista has been revealed, it's unclear whether this movie will provide the profound work she's craving. However, Deadline did report that it's "exactly the type of movie she wanted to do next."
