Last month, moviegoers around the world were treated to a sequel of Shazam! Fury of the Gods. The DC superhero movie was highly anticipated - and it did not disappoint. It has since become a box office success, raking in $1 billion dollars at the worldwide box office. Here's a look!

Shazam! Fury of the Gods is the sequel to 2019's critically acclaimed Shazam!. This time around, Zachary Levi returns as Billy Batson and his superhuman alter ego, who must face off against an ancient evil rising from his past. This ancient evil comes in the form of Zeus' daughter Helen of Troy (played by Rachel Zegler). She seeks to overthrow her brother-turned father Zeus's kingdom and remake it into her own. To do so, she must find Zeus' legendary staff -– which is currently held by Shazam -– or else she'll unleash a devastating power on Earth that could destroy human civilization as we know it.

The film itself delighted critics and fans alike with its over-the-top action sequences, larger-than-life characters, and a heartwarming story about family. It featured some incredible performances from an all-star cast made up of Asher Angel (Billy Batson), Jack Dylan Grazer (Freddy Freeman), and Michelle Borth (Mary Bromfield). Other notable cast members include Ian Chen (Eugene Choi), Jovan Armand (Pedro Peña), Faithe Herman (Darla Dudley), Adam Brody (Dr. Sivana), and Rachel Zegler as Helen of Troy, among others. The universally beloved movie appealed to both children and adults alike for its witty dialogue, intense fight scenes, and overall sense of fun throughout the entire film. It has also become one of the biggest financial successes for Warner Bros. studios this year with a total gross just shy of $1 billion worldwide – making it only 1 of 2 movies to achieve such success after Tenet - directed by Christopher Nolan.
