| LAST UPDATE 12/02/2021
Is there anything she can't do? Rihanna's been showing us how its done for years now - and her latest honor speaks to just that: The Fenty beauty welcomed another major milestone after being honored in her home country. From her newfound status to the ceremony it called for, hang on while we break down everything we know.
On Tuesday, November 30, the Fenty queen was crowned with a newfound title: "National Hero of Barbados." And you can bet it was cause for celebration. Held in RiRi's hometown of Bridgetown, the self-made boss lady looked every bit like royalty as her inauguration ceremony was underway.
"On behalf of a grateful nation, but an even prouder people, we therefore present to you the designee for national hero of Barbados, Ambassador Robyn Rihanna Fenty," Barbados Prime Minister Mia Mottley proudly announced. "May you continue to shine like a diamond and bring honor to your nation by your works, by your actions and to do credit wherever you shall go." Amen.
In case you forgot, Rihanna's latest win is anything but random. The Diamond artist has been advocating for her home country for years now, and it's certainly paid off. After being labelled the country's cultural ambassador back in 2008, RiRi has gone on to help Barbados accomplish great things.
Not only has she helped but her homeland on the map, but she joined in on the celebrations last month as Barbados welcomed a history-making change: in November, the country made history after declaring its independence from Britain. "The time has come to fully leave our colonial past behind," the country's governor general, Sandra Mason, announced, before officially declaring Barbados a republic.
Just when we thought her self-made billionaire title wasn't impressive enough? This national hero came to prove us wrong. Clearly, Rihanna's reign is just getting started. And we can't wait to see what comes next...
